How To Goal Set for 2024

Don’t make an outcome-based fitness goal for 2024.

There’s a reason why 91% fail.

It’s because the goals they create feel unachievable and outside their control.

The goal you make for 2024 should be

1. Entirely in your control

2. Specific

3. Actionable

4. Measurable

A goal like running a 12-minute mile is nice to have, but it’s not in your control and tells you nothing about how to get there.

Instead, think about what you could do that would nearly GUARANTEE hitting a 12 minute 2 mile.

For example:

1. Run 4 times per week, every week (or switch to non-impact cardio in the event of injury)

2. Do non-impact cardio one day per week

3. Eat in a 300-calorie deficit until you reach 13% body fat

4. Maintain 12% bodyfat or a weight you can perform and live sustainably

5. Give a true hard effort on every high-intensity run

6. 100% consistency

Do you see the difference? This plan is 100% in your control.

By the end of 2024, you might not hit the 12-minute mile. You could surpass it. And if not, you’ll still be fitter, stronger, and more disciplined than you were.

Remember, focus on what you can control, and the results will follow naturally.
