The GRIND and why it’s so important
You will never succeed at selection if you don’t know how to grind.
What do I mean by grind?
I mean to mentally harden yourself and dig deep in the hardest parts of training:
- The final 800m sprint in your 2-mile run
- The final 2 reps on squats which
- Mile 11 of your 12-mile ruck
What makes the grind so hard, is that in training it can feel like it doesn’t matter
So what if you slow down for the final half mile of your 2-mile run?
It’s just training, right?
The problem is, mindset is something you train – every day
And when times get tough at selection, you need to be mentally resilient
If you’ve trained your mind to slow down instead of bow up to the challenge,
don’t be surprised when you’re the first to quit
It’s another week of training. Make it a great one.
